White Hart Restaurant, Lydgate - Oldham (Revisited)

Time of visit: 16 August 2014

Fine dining at its best! Amazing...

We have been to the Brasserie once and the Restaurant once. On both occasions we were very delighted. This was our second time to the Restaurant. No doubt, White Hart is amazing!

On previous visit I had foie gras as my starter. It was the most tasty foie gras I have ever had in my life. My husband was envious and he vowed to have it on the next visit. So to make sure he would get it, upon the booking I wrote a message telling them that we wanted to have foie gras.
When we arrived and saw the menu (they change the menu regularly, so what you see on their website is not necessarily what you will get), the foie gras was not there. However, a staff came to us and said that they got the message and they would make a special dish for my husband, the foie gras. Wonderful!!

Everything was great. The only minor disappointment was that the reflective dark plate they used for my starter (iced watermelon combined with crab was superbly delicious, by the way). It made me so difficult to get a good photo. The lighting didn't help too. I took photos several times and edited them to get a clearer photo.

We would certainly go back there. For now, the White Hart is my favourite number one!! Well done White Hart.

Nice view otw..

Afternoon Tea at Harvey Nichols, Manchester

Time  of visit: 16 July 2014

It was nice but not the best afternoon tea in Manchester

I had the afternoon tea with my daughter, RB. We enjoyed it. It was beautiful. My highlight was carrot cake which I am normally not over keen on it. Harvey Nichols presented very very nice one, the best I have ever tasted. We were given 6 finger sandwiches each, I found it too many. In my opinion, it would be better if they made other savoury items that will make the plate more interesting.

Overall it is not the best afternoon tea in Manchester. Cloud23 in Hilton and Teacup in Northern Quarter are better. However, if you want to treat yourself, go for it. The place is relaxing, the view is nice, the service is great. You can relax, and enjoy your time, before you continue your shopping.

Red's True Barbecue, Manchester

Time of visit: 14 July 2014

I had a donut burger

A real donut. Yes, the buns are donuts. If you are really hungry and you are a burger lover, you will love this place. They have even bigger burgers than the donut ones. It is not a place I would return though. It was okay but not really 'wow-ing' me. Burgers, I prefer Almost Famous.

Oh, good to note.. if you are afraid of dark, don't go to the toilet, black and dark.

I like this hot sauce. Nice!!

La Caleche, Aix-en-Provence, France

Time of visit: October 2013

Most reviewers on Tripadvisor wrote about pizza, we had other food and they were quite nice. Service was alright, the staff were friendly and courteous. Price was reasonable. My husband had Milanese veal, I had jumbo king prawns a la Provencal. Both were enjoyable. I saw some guests having grilled jumbo king prawns, they looked really delicious.
