One of best meals we have ever had

Set in an idyllic & picturesque countryside, White Hart is a great venue for a wedding, celebrations, or simply to enjoy a nice dinner. In the same building, there are 2 eating places; brasserie and restaurant, plus a hotel.
IMHO, Michael Shaw the head chef deserves to earn a Michelin star. All the dishes we had were out of this world. Sublime!
Btw, it was my first encounter with morel mushrooms :)

Small restaurant, but lovely.
A nice surprise, an amuse bouche: pea soup with freshly made bread. Very very nice.

His starter: chilled wye valley asparagus, dorset crab, pea shoots. A staff poured the jus.

My starter: Foie gras & cherries. Literally melting in the mouth. Sooooooooo good!!!!!

His main: sirloin of beef, burnt onion and morel mushrooms. Delicious! Cooked pink
but look.. no drip of blood whatsoever. My first encounter
with morel mushroom.
My main: roast rump of lamb, goats curd, courgette, black olive, basil. Both meats
cooked pink, but no blood on the plate. Clean, high quality meat,
and very very very delicious. Cooked to perfection.
His dessert: duck egg custard tart, gariguette strawberry. It look simple. like normally
a tart looks like, but once you scoop it, you can tell
the difference. Cooked to perfection.
My dessert: passion fruit souffle, banana ice cream. Again, it looks simple
but the chef knows what to do. It is so delicate,
so nice, not too sweet, puuurrrfect!!!!
Wahhhh, keliatan bgt enaknya! Aku kl gak slh pernah 'nemu' tmpt ini pas lg liat2 tempat kemping dll di Peak District, inget foto yg di atas itu. Seneng bgt yaaaa... Looked fab, teh! What a way to celebrate an anniversary :)))
